Whether you’ve already got a Kånken Classic and want to expand your collection, or you’re a total Kånken first-timer, there’s plenty of choice out there for you – almost too much choice.
One of the many alternatives to the archetypal Kånken is the Kånken Totepack, which, you guessed it, takes the classic design and inverts it to a tote-bag design.
You might be wondering exactly how that works. Well, this blog explains all.
How does the Kånken Totepack differ from the regular Kånken?
The only real difference is that the Kånken Totepack has an open top rather than the zip closure of the Kånken Classic. It has shoulder straps on the back, just like the Kånken Classic, so you can use it as a backpack when you’re not using it as a tote bag, or vice versa. That’s the beauty of it!
When full (or nearly full), the Kånken Totepack has that signature cuboid shape that everyone knows and loves. It’s just that little bit easier to use as a shopping bag, which is of course what many people are doing in these environmentally-conscious times.
What material is it made from?
The Kånken Totepack is made from the exact same fabric as the regular Kånken Classic: it’s called Vinylon F.
Put simply, Vinylon F is a hard-wearing synthetic material that Fjällräven themselves engineered. It comes with a water-resistant coating and is also dirt-resistant – so it’s more than up to the wear and tear of everyday life.
Which colours are available?
The Kånken Totepack may be the Kånken Classic’s lesser-seen sibling, but that doesn’t mean that it’s only available in a few colours. Quite the opposite.
Does it come in different sizes?
Currently, the Kånken Totepack comes in two sizes:
- Regular (14L volume)
- Mini (8L volume)
For ease of comparison, the regular-sized Kånken Classic is 16L, and the Kånken Classic Mini is 7L.
