Fjallraven Manchester store walk

Three hikers with Fjällräven backpacks trekking through a mountainous landscape with lush greenery.

Join Fjallraven Manchester as we re-connect with nature through a largely traffic-free escape from the city to the tranquil Mersey Valley.

Stage 1 of the GM Ringway. Are you ready to explore the brand-new long-distance walking route for Greater Manchester? The inaugural stage uses historic canal towpath, pedestrian walkways, urban parkland and the trans Pennine trail to trace largely traffic-free and tranquil route from the city centre to the verdant Mersey valley.

You are invited to join the Fjallraven team at the Fjallraven Manchester store from 10am for coffee and pastries before we begin our trek at 10:30am.

Prepare to trek through the magnificent town paths of the historic Rochdale and Bridgewater Canals, Castlefield’s industrial and transport-related heritage, the iconic sports grounds of Old Trafford as well as many more route highlights.

We want to join as a community and share our love of the outdoors and nature together, therefore this walk will be accessible for all, we’ll take some short breaks en-route to rest, re-group and relax before we continue to walk at a relaxed pace.

The walk will end between 1.30pm and 2pm in the large beer garden at Jackson’s Boat pub which backs onto the River Mersey and Transpennine Trail. The pub is only a short stroll away from Sale Water Park Metrolink from where you can return to Manchester city entre in less than 20 minutes.

The creator of the GM Ringway, Dr Andrew Read will be leading this walk.

You can visit the Eventbrite page to register for this walk, where all FAQs will be displayed.
